This program provides skills training to students in basic nursing tasks directed toward the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients in long-term health facilities.
Successful completion enables you to apply for state competency testing which, when passed, leads to a Certified Nurse Assistant certificate.
General Class Information
15-week program: class plus clinical practice at local healthcare facilities
Upon completion students are eligible for California State Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Exam
Strict attendance requirements
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification included
Prerequisites:
Open to English Language Learners
Must be 18 years old
Social Security Card or ITIN Card
Valid state photo ID, drivers license or US passport
LiveScan Criminal background clearance (included)
Medical clearance
English reading CASAS testing
English language learner designation defined by funding grant.
